Someone asked me to check if reset button works in my mobo (as in his doesn't work). According to doc: it is J3.
Indeed, shorting doesn't make a reset. Maybe it is a factory issue with non populated element in route.
What reset should short finally then can measure to the end ?

GA-5486AL User manual

The Reset switch on panel provides users with Hardware Reset function which is almost
the same as power on / off. The system will do a cold start after the Reset switch is
pushed and released at once. The Reset switch is a 2 PIN connector and should be
installed to J1 on mainboard
.

That's wrong. Everywhere else in the manual describes J3 as the reset jumper (same as the printing on the board itself) and the very next paragraph describes J1 as the green mode jumper.
I would say the old battery has damaged several traces on the board that need to be repaired...
