ATi Rage128Pro drivers and software ( including OpenGL information ). Focus is still on Win9x, newer OS has more and better cards options to select. I must say that Rage128 still has many other OS support, not Win 3.x compatible, but in some resolutions Rage128Pro cards seems to be fastest DOS cards out there. Have you ever before heard of Rage128Pro2 (later and bit cooler chips)? Its like Rage3 with its XL/XC cards, also later and tiny cards, good also for low profile builds.I dont own Rage128Pro2 at the moment, but it should be out of the box bit faster and cooler than other Rage4 cards. I would like to get one ATi Rage128 Ultra (Pro2) 109-73100-02 tiny AGP card. Sometimes smaller size means better. We are out of 8MB (16MB in Mac) situation with Rage4 and easly up to 8/16/32MB if not talking about Rage Maxx 64MB cards (2xRage128Pro), great piece of dual graphics history that also supported Win9x.

What a great old videocards if used with better drivers and software, bit similar to Rage3, but driver components not so flexible. I have some collection of drivers and software for Rage4 based cards. I mostly use them with Win9x and have Direct3D/OpenGL/DVD acceleration all together. What ATi Rage4 software you may use that i know nothing about? Maybe someone could tell me what ATi software is latest or best for Rage4 cards, i am sure i have missed some drivers and software for Rage4. What about Rage4 bioses and flash tools tha work, maybe bios editor? If you have some software or fast drivers that you use and it is compatible with Rage4, share it! I will collect here all Rage4 information and i am not abandoned Rage3, just less things to discover there. It takes bit time to test some software and games, but bit by bit i will add something new. This topic is good for Rage4 OpenGL as well, with Rage3 i did more separate topics. Now 2in1 or AllinOne.

Anyone that wants good information about Rage128 / Rage128Pro / Rage128Pro2 are welcome here.

ATi Rage4 is underrated like Rage3 is, both are good at palleted textures in D3D and GLDirect OpenGL.
Fog is not fully supported, they have partial or bit broken table fog, at least RageXL/XC and Rage128s.
For Rage128 / Rage128 Pro try out older OpenGL 1274 file, it has less extensions, but also is faster. 😀
Later OpenGL versions are true OpenGL 1.2, but older are OpenGL 1.1+, its first ATi true MutiTexture.

This tiny ATi Rage128Pro2 with 4xsdram is fastest Rage 128 card - 109-73100-02
https://www.retrohardware-reviews.de/109-7310 … -rage-128-pro2/

You have to check that it has 4xrams, if 2xram then slower puppy!

Rage128 driver 4.12.6292 + OpenGL 1274 should be good/best combo.
At least for more older machines and retro OpenGL 1.1+,+multitexture
I will do my testing and clean Win9x install and i will take some time. 😀
Release bit tweaked drivers in future, but its almost summer, i am out.

From newer driver releases i found 4.13.8002 driver and there are more
undiscovered ones, but latest so far is 4.13.8006 beta drivers, still 4.11
and 4.12 drivers are usually faster and also older OpenGL 1274 with Q2.
For now i added here this older Rage4OpenGL1274 file with screenshot
What you think about ATi Rage128Pro cards, does it have what it takes?

I've only had to use the final driver. Unlike the Rage Pro/II it's an actual proper videocard with full hardware blending that doesn't need no repacked frankendriver nonsense cluttering every thread that makes a mention of Rage. Paletted texture support is an opt-in for reduced performance reasons.

Vogonsdrivers already has a bundle of the 2001 drivers that one needs

FUCK "AI". It is a tool of fascism. We do not need it. We do not use it.

Final Rage128 drivers are not the best if you want more performance out of older pc and it does not have working table fog. Even only about table fog quest, its good to search other drivers (uncharted). Gona 3DCIF site did not locate two newer cif drivers, 4.11.2582 and 4.11.2611 releases back then and his site still states that 4.11.2611 drivers do not work with Rage XL/XC AGP, but it does, basic-ly just 4 modified files and for the compatibility changed more driver files. All are original ATi files, just with renamed file names inside files and files sometimes from different versions. ATi2DRAB driver also work for 3DCIF and better version i will release later. ATi2DRAD driver i have not much to add at the moment, maybe better refresh rate option. I would liked to have Rage XL/XC PCI (4752 and 4753) to get 3DCIF also, but so far total support have not come out of it. ATi Rage128Pro has DXTC and real MultiTexture and even better DVD support and Rage Pro MultiTexture is not real MT.

Probably i start by collecting ATiRage128 OpenGLs for Win9x first, like i have searched them for Rage Pro, Thank you!

I'd quite like to have one for my K6-III+ machine, but actually finding and identifying one of the decent ones that has both a 128-bit memory bus AND the full 32MB of VRAM is quite difficult (even with the help of the German site in the OP). ATI's practice of using the same model number for a bunch of different variants is most annoying.
