Hello everyone,

I'm trying to identify a removable drive module from an unknown computer system, probably from the early to mid-1990s.

What I know so far:

The module contains a Citizen U0DA-17A floppy drive.
It also contains an IDE hard drive.
The floppy and HDD are mounted one above the other inside the same removable carrier.
The carrier slides into a larger system and can be removed as a single unit.
A custom interface board is attached to the rear of the carrier.
The hard drive connects to this board through a standard IDE connector.
The floppy connects through a 26-pin FDD connector.
The carrier connects to the host system through a 50-pin Centronics connector.
On the host side there was a matching board with IDE and power connections, which converted IDE/FDD signals to the Centronics-50 connection.
The module is physically taller than a standard 5.25" drive bay, so it does not appear to be a typical PC mobile rack.

The PCB markings I found are:

PLO ECH 1
94V-0
E169497

Unfortunately I do not know the manufacturer or the original system it came from.

Does anyone recognize this type of removable drive assembly or know what computer/system it may have been used in?

Photo attached.

Thank you!

Can you install FDD and take a photo of the front view?

Maybe a security feature against those who can't remember a simple 2 pages of debug instructions to blink the scroll-lock light and capture it with a pocket LDR to serial storage device to export confidential documents. 🤣

Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.
