I bought a old system a while back current state is really messed up in a spray painted case with following components which i want to build out in a Chieftec Dragon DX01 case i have.
CASE = No name different colors by spray paint (will be moved over to a Chieftec Dragon i have in good condition but is missing a PSU adapter bracket i bought a similar defective Chieftec case for this bracket will pick up tomorrow)
Motherboard = MSI K7T PRO2 MS-6330 (replaced chipset thermal paste, need to update bios still)
RAM = 2x256mb pc-133 (will keep as is for this)
CPU = Athlon xp 1700+ Palomino (will be upgraded to Thoroughbred B 2000+)
Cooler = stock aluminum (would want copper but still searching)
GPU = Ati Radeon 9600se (i have a Gf3 ti200, Gf4 ti4200 or FX5600 not sure which to use GF4 seems best)
PSU = i added a FSP 400 with a 20a rail on 5v
HDD = i added a 120gb IDE Seagate 7200.8 (i have a Promise PCI controller not sure if i will go raid route yet)
ODD = i added 1X IDE CD Writer 1x IDE DVD Writer and a 3.5" floppy
Soundcard = on the way is a Sounblaster Live (ess 1371 for 5€ but wanted the ess1370 tbh)
Add-on = need a usb 2.0 pci card still
Will try to use all this on a 1600x1200 75hz monitor togheter with PS/2 mouse and keyboard
Want to use this as a proper (not showoff) build mainly for DOS and W98 era games.
What do you guys think is there any thing i should change or add or tips for DOS/98se?
Too many builds running DOS/98se/Xp/Vista/7/10/11/Linux Mint don't like VM want real hw
