What specifically were you doing when the sparks happened? And did you see aproximately where they came from?

If the battery or power supply temporarily shorted to ground it's probably not going to cause lasting damage

Sometimes the screw posts break, especially near the hinges and the metallized plastic in most laptops can result in a disaster as it finds its way into a power circuit on the motherboard. Such results have been catastrophic in my experience.

The machine shouldn't be powered until full disassembly and cleanup + assessing of possible damage.

Both NeoG_ and Tiido are correct that by simply that description it isn't really possible to determine the exact damage that occured, it might be nothing, or it might be something that causes a critical failure in the long run, a pictures of the damaged area might help us determine the damage that happened.

I mean the computer is working. I've been using it for the last couple of hours, no issues as of now (I am using it to this reply, I understand It's not a good idea).

I was trying to install an swap a new SSD and It came approximately near form secondary SSD slot. I will post the pics shortly.

Hmm in the first picture the IC above the PU502 label and the capacitor to the left of it looks a bit off, can you make a closer more focused picture of that area? I cannot read the text on the top of the IC.

Happened here one time, dropped the SSD screw near the battery which wasn't disconnected. Spark but no damage, learning moment.

This as close as I could get. You could see a black spot below the PJ506, this is where the sparks came from . I assume it's an IC that got fried (correct me if I am wrong).
So, should I do something about it?

You appear lucky. The soot should be cleaned off from the area, some cleaning alcohol and a Q-tip will do wonders. That capacitor that has its corner damaged should get replaced, it will not have same capacitance as before and the power conversion chip may have higher ripple due to that or maybe it'll brown out in some conditions. It is probably difficult to determine what the original value of that capacitor is without access to a service manual or a schematic etc.
