I know I used to play both games on my Core 2 duo xp system with no issues back in the day.

Pentium 2 and 3 are single core processors. Pentium 4 processors often have Hyperthreading, which works like a virtual second CPU (It is actually a way to schedule operations from two threads simultaneously, so that the execution units of the CPU have less downtime, this is an oversimplified explanation of course, if your are interested in technical details there are a lot of articles regarding P4 multithreading going into various degrees of detail). There is also the Pentium D which is an actual dual core CPU, as it uses P4 cores sometimes these are referred to as Pentium 4 Dual Cores even if the official designation is Pentium D.

All Pentium D-s are dual core and 64-bit, there are two major variations, Smithfield which is basically two Prescott Cores put into a single package and Presler which is two Cedar Mill cores. While Pentium D-s are dual cores they are not the most efficient implementations of a dual core CPU as they are based on cores originally not designed for dual core usage.

I was more thinking along the lines of actual looking at it, its selft to tell me what it is. or viewing system requirements or something in the BIOS rather then a 64 bit program that will not run on my machine

I found out! its a Pentium 4 . so no good then? unless anyone knows how to trick it in the BIOS?
