Hi all -- I have an Omnibook 425. By default, it runs partially off of the D: drive, which is a flash ROM containing a basic DOS/Windows install, and it's not possible to boot strictly from the C: drive or install an OS other than the one contained in flash ROM. However, I understand that with the flash ROM from the Omnibook 430, things are a lot more flexible, and you can install other OSes.

Does anyone know if the Omnibook 430 flash ROM image (v2.0s) is available anywhere? If so, I have a friend who would be able to write it to a linear Flash PCMCIA card to use with my machine.

Thanks!

Also, for anyone who needs it, here are the capacitors to replace for an Omnibook 425:

3 x supercapacitor, 5.5v, 0.22F. ~11.5mm diameter, ~4.5mm lead spacing

The following are Nichicon radial caps, 105 degrees C rated:

2200uF/6.3V, 10mm diameter, 30mm height, 5mm lead spacing

1500uf/10V, 10mm diameter, 30mm height, 5mm lead spacing

1500/25V, 12.5mm diameter, 30mm height, 5mm lead spacing
