Oh, it’s a Moon Racer clone—what a gem! Thanks a lot for the help, really appreciate it. But yeah, taking it step by step. Right now I’m focusing on all the SGL demos, and hopefully I’ll upload a video in a few days showing how the implementation is going.
Sadly, since I don’t have a PowerVR card, I’m relying on YouTube gameplays—some of them even from people here on Vogons—as reference. Just working with that.
My main goal is simply to get things working and make it look reasonably close to the original. I’m already pretty happy with that for now. I’ll polish it more later on.

By the way, does anyone know when a newbie can send private messages on Vogons?

Dont know exactly, maybe 100 replays / posts and it opens it, maybe something else, at one point it opens if you use your Vogons account.

Here's some footage I took at high quality of a couple of games:

Moon Racer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cyOG1SLNYVI
Ground Master (not a good example as it's an PCX1 game running badly on PCX2/Pentium 4, from the NEC PC 3D Engine driver CD): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ThPoVjv1yp8

Other games I have: Purevex, Revolte, Virtual On, Ultim@te Race 1 track and 3 track (inc. Gateway edition).

Other useful PowerVR related people on here:

vetz aka RetroCompaqGuy on YouTube (helped with finding some software) see videos here (some PowerVR ones in there): https://www.youtube.com/@vetzRetro

Tuxality was working on a PowerVR wrapper and got so far into getting Virtual On to work, e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Rk-wo2wewM there's a long thread on Is this the possibility of a Power VR SGL Wrapper? but his wrapper didn't release

My PC spec: Win10 64bit, i7-4970K (not overclocked), KFA2 GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER, Creative Soundblaster ZXr, 16GB RAM, Asus Z97-A motherboard, NZXT 410 case, ROG Swift GSYNC monitor

Well, I’ll keep posting and see if at some point the option to send private messages shows up. Oh, and being able to edit posts would be nice too… because right now if I mess up, I can’t change anything 🙄
VirtuaIceMan… yeah, I’ve checked out all those videos and a few more, like Raven’s, which are really well done. As for games, I’ve got quite a few downloaded and others I can’t find for PowerVR, like Virtual On. But yeah, it’s still early days to really test this properly. I might release a new version in a few days since, for example, OmegaField is pretty playable already.

Any chance to lower CPU requirements, at the moment it requires SSE2 capable CPU.

In the new version I’ll compile two DLLs — a standard one and another for CPUs without SSE2. I’ll test it on my Pentium III and see how it runs.

I tried Virtual-On PowerVR version and when you launch the game it says "Error! Can not set display mode both of 640x480x16 320x240x16. Exit game."

I tried forcing 16bit colour and 640x480 res with Windows Compatibility settings but no difference. Just reporting my results 😀

I also tried the original single track version of Ultim@te Race, but that doesn't really start, if you click the screen it goes black, then white, then stops responding.

Purevex seems to work great! I think the background space is lacking bilinear texture filtering though (not able to fire up PowerVR rig to compare right this moment though).

Note: these older games won't install on Windows 10 so you just drag the setup.exe file into OTVDM and they install fine 😀

Is there any updates on this wrapper, or something we can expect soon?

Hello everyone! I hope you're all doing well. 😀

I was hoping to have something more complete to share, but work has kept me busier than expected, so I haven't been able to dedicate as much time to the project as I would have liked.

That said, I think the progress has been quite good. A large number of the demos are now working, and OmegaField is already very enjoyable to play. I also encourage you to try the other demos and let me know how they work on your systems.

As for my personal goals:

- Revolte is now playable, although there are still quite a few graphical glitches. There's still a lot of work to be done.
- Moonracer still needs a fair amount of work. You can start playing it, but after a while parts of the screen gradually turn black.

I haven't had the chance to test the remaining games yet, so apologies to everyone who's been waiting for those.

I also spent some time trying to adapt the libraries for DxDnd, but work and other responsibilities ended up taking priority.

Have a great summer!
