Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS - DOS
========================================================================

SBEZS is a additionnal program for Creative's SB16 Emulation driver.
It provides full support for the Audigy 2 and 2 ZS under DOS.
Supports the following inputs/outputs:
- Analog output
- Digital output (SPDIF)
- LINE IN
- Audio CD (analog and digital)

Example AUTOEXEC.BAT:

Launch examples:
----------------

SBEZS default settings
SBEZS /V:70 master volume at 70%
SBEZS /L:0 mute Line In
SBEZS /C:0 mute Audio CD
SBEZS /SW swaps left/right stereo channels
SBEZS /? help

/V:n master volume, 0 to 100, default 100
/L:n Line In volume, 0 to 100, default 75
/C:n Audio CD volume, 0 to 100, default 75
/SW stereo swap, useful in Sound Blaster Pro mode

First version, has been full tested but some bugs can occurs, feel free to test and tell me 😀

Can this also be run without SBEINIT.COM to only open LINE IN/LINE OUT without SB16 emulation in DOS?

I use the Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS only in Windows 98 and have a dedicated ISA sound card for DOS. I now use the LINE OUT from the Sound Blaster 2 ZS to the LINE IN of the ISA card. It would be nice to do it the other way around.

There is an utility to do that but it doesn't work on the Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS unfortunately (only on Audigy 1).

Yes, it can.
BTW, the timing of this release is very interesting since I also released a similar utility named A2LINE last week.

It seems the collective unconscious works in the Vogons community 😀
BTW, SBEZS has definitely more potential compared to A2LINE since it is not just a single purpose utility to enable Line-In only under DOS for Audigy 2.
But for me currently it has a drawback compared to A2LINE: SBEZS handles the Line-In and CD-In sources together so when you enable Line-In and set high input level then the analog CD-in source is also set to a high input level that can result in more (and noticeable) noise. And if you do not need CD-in at all this is unnecessary.
I think that the 2 input sources should be handled separately in SBEZS and then it will be the best tool for Audigy 2 under DOS even for me.

Yes of course, SBEINIT is only to enable Sound Blaster 16 emulation.
Just launch SBEZS lonely in this case for LINE IN/LINE OUT.

Yes both projects are completely different, mine goal is to make a complete mixer for the Audigy 2 ZS under DOS.

UPDATE: Version 1.0a now support Line In and Audio CD volume control separated.
