I've purchased the following items for this system:

Internal SCSI 50-pin cable 5 port (IBM FRU: 60H9758, IBM PC Server 310): (Allowing me to neatly connect up all of the SCSI removable media to the PCI-AS300 Adaptec AIC-7880 SCSI + Vibra 16 PnP Sound Card )

Dell 0K3712 Poweredge SCSI Cable: (Allowing me to neatly connect up a 15K RPM 68-pin SCSI Drive as the system disk.)

3Com EtherLink III 3C509B-C ISA RJ45 BNC AUI Combo LAN Card Network Card (Frees up a PCI slot for the USB 2.0 card)

Belkin F5U220 REV:3 5‑Port USB 2.0 Controller PCI Expansion Card (Giving the system USB 2.0)

All of this is being done to ultimately fit one of these Quantum3D Obsidian2 X-24 3dfx Voodoo2 SLI PCI Graphics Cards into the system, giving it Voodoo2 SLI:

There's a free PCI slot which shares the IRQ with the adjacent slot, but seeing that Voodoo cards don't need an IRQ I would be able to slot it there!

The IDI Drive Racks have arrived! (What’s Super Cool is that the keys for the racks work on the Colani Case as well!!!)

IMO delete the usb card and just use the 1.0 on the motherboard

People have a lot of performance problems fitting USB 2 PCI cards into older slower systems such as this. That would also free up a slot for a proper network card

I'll try the USB 2.0 card, because if I can get it to work it's MUCH faster than the onboard USB 1.0. If it doesn't work, I can always use it in one of my G4's.

I only need the network card to give the machine a "host ID/MAC address"in the case that I may want to install some software that requires it.

The machine's currently got a PCI network card installed. (But I'd much rather have four faster USB ports on the back of the machine if I can have them.)

I placed them at the top of the case, as there’s very little space between them and the power supply and it also allows for better management of the IDE ribbon cables.

The door unfortunately won’t be able to be fitted back due to the levers on the caddies, but I intend to give this thing a beautiful selection of drives!

With some adjustment, I think I've got it to a point where the Door will fit!

I've ordered two of these Seagate ST380215ACE's for the IDE Drive Racks: (These will act as storage drives)

Here's the 36 GB Hitachi Ultrastar, 15K73 series, model DK32EK-36NW / HUS157336EL3600 SCSI Drive which will serve as the System Drive in this System:

This thing's also going to need a drive rack!

The Seagate ST380215ACE's arrived today, and for the life of me, simply wont work in the Dual Pentium Pro! (It freezes while trying to autodetect them)

The machine is able to detect a messed up 20GB drive however, so I think that these drives are beyond the size limit that this BIOS can cater for! (The crazy thing it that my socket 8 system with the Pentium II Overdrive runs them perfectly!!!)

Here's the AI Overview on this matter:

I'll use the Seagate ST380215ACE's for something else in the future.

Any suggestions on what drives to get will be much appreciated!

In this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZscPGFrj60Y

The Samsung Voyager 6 4,3 GB,Intern,5400 RPM (SV0432A) was shown to work with one of these systems.

Its only a 4.3GB drive, so I'm seriously going to have to lower my expectations for these two storage disks!

I know that the IBM DTTA-351680 16.8GB 5400RPM 3.5" Hard Disk drives P/N 00K4073 is above the 8.4GB limit, but would it be an option, as it looks to be a very cool drive?

I've ordered one of these Fujitsu MPA3043AT 4.3GB 5.4K 3.5" ATA Hard Drives for the Pentium Pro (This should work as it's a small drive and the same vintage as this system!)

17862646818393PIiw3hdnb4_portrait.jpg

I managed to source this locally and if it works nicely, I'll have to order another one on eBay.

It's a real beauty! (I love the look of these vintage drives! 🙂 )
