Thanks marxveix it's great that multitexture can get you a few more fps on Quake 2.
Interesting I couldn't get multitexture to work with GLQuake, when starting it detects multitexture support in the console then just crashes, I had to remove the multitexture extensions from atidbg.ini to get it started.

Sorry for late reply, but for my drivers later OpenGL versions also give same console crash with OpenGL 1106, 1107v1 and 1107v2, up to 1104 it works.
GLquake exit i did get error and latest working without exit error for me is 4.12.1100, but gl_ztrick 0 is needed from 1095 and it takes away view fps.
I like the most 1073 and 1091,from later ones i have not found the best one yet,up to 4.12.1100 is ok,so maybe 4.12.1095 / 4.12.1096 also good ones.
In GLquake MultiTexture is bit brighter and different looking colors than default,if you look close some walls. All should see it easly+default is darker.
Quake3 Vertex Lighting from menu should be used if with MultiTexture, at least with 4.11.1073 it is so, but it should be fastest+q1 and q2 menu issue.
MultiTextutre support missing can also be drivers related, not just ATi OpenGL versions. To be correct, real MultiTexture support came with Rage 128.
It is also correct that from 1095 up to 1107v2 32MB AGP Aperture Size is good choice (16MB size is nice as well),4MB and 8MB is not good also@D3D.
