and in case the project accidentally goes out of basic it will just have to add another emulator support 😀
maybe it is worth choosing the right one at the beginning 😀
just thinking 😀

you are not using any arguments for pcem.
pcem is using accurate cpu cycles emulation which causes huge slow down
this accurate emulation is not even used in dosbox as it was needed only for some XT 8088 4.77 MHz CGA games
games were designed for this particular 8088 4.77 MHz cpu cause no other cpu speed existed that time.
once more intel cpus with different speeds appeared on the market (for example 8088 8 Mhz) such accuracy was no longer needed
for example Jungle Hunt (1982) needs it to properly display statistic letters colors (it is just a tiny corruption, game is still 100% finishable without it though)
i am not sure if even jungle hunt really needs that. i think just a more precise way to configure cycles in dosbox would be enough. (with fraction cycles)

even if you don't care about speed it is not eco friendly.

For these games powervr wrapper is useless because are direct3d game and best version with direct3d.

Power sgl game are games from 1996 and 1997, perfect for cpu support in pcem.

They would be... if Power VR didn't need a lot of Mhz to scale to nice speeds. I think you said that 10 years too soon, because ppl struggling to get PII-400 out of PCem right now as far as I know and they smooth out best at 800 on real hardware.

Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.

power games in 96/97 worked well with pentium 200 and very well with penitum 2 266 that are cpu well emulated in pcem and well supported with actual cpu.

ralonsoj aims at all powervr games, not just 96/97

So what? Nobody cares. We won't use the wrapper with PCem if the game requires a CPU that's too powerful. In general, games that use SGL and have a better version with SGL than with other 3D cards are from 1996/1997, not later, so they're perfectly suited to PCem in terms of CPU requirements.

PCem supports 3dfx acceleration, and yet plenty of games don't run on PCem. That doesn't make 3dfx acceleration any less interesting in PCem.

You have a really weird way of thinking that I just can't understand, or, as I said in a previous message, you're just trolling. If that's the case, it's pretty immature.

3dfx is supported in dosbox and later qemu support was added as dosbox was not fast enough.
i suggest not making same mistake and saving a lot of work and just ignore pcem and dosbox and add only qemu support instead.

dosbox is fast enough for 3dfx dos game and early windows 3dfx game that don't works in native windows with 3dfx wrapper.
For 3dfx windows game, wrapper like nglide and dgvoodoo are present.

For all 3dfx glide game that I played, I have never had to use QEMU. PCem, DOSBox or windows with a wrapper have always been enough for all the games I've played.

I don't understand what you're trying to achieve in this discussion, but the longer it goes on, the more you convince me that you're just looking to troll rather than actually have a discussion.

To begin with, your whole argument is based on the false assumption that PCem is too slow for PowerVR games, which is simply not true for games from 1996 and 1997, for example. Period.

You're entitled to not want a PowerVR wrapper in PCem. That's your problem, not mine or anyone else's.

In the end, ralonsoj is the one who will decide, not you. Otherwise, make your own wrapper and then you'll be free to decide whatever you want. Other than derailing the thread and acting like someone who's deliberately pretending not to understand, you're not contributing anything.
