Reiterating because this is still happening.

IMO this will block interesting projects.
Not in favor of this.

The VAST majority of 'projects' posted here by people with less than twenty posts(and usually it's the first or second post they make) is non-disclosed AI slop that is abandoned shortly after it is made. These new users are not reading the rules and do not care to disclose their AI usage as required. Even if they do disclose that it is AI that doesn't mean they will continue to support that project. It is pure garbage being heaped onto this forum and we should be better than that.

You are assuming that moderators can't step in and approve link posting by editing the author's post and adding it themselves if it is truly exciting and worthwhile.

We're entering a new era of slop coding and we need to be ready. Right now it seems like we're not.

So called AI slop is a new thing, so no the majority is not AI stuff. Let’s give people the benefit of doubt and trust on our members to recognize and report unwanted projects before setting such hard measures.

Just ignore it? There is already numerous single poster posts through out the numerous years of vogons history.

I get that its a bit annoying, but its better than the gate-keepery/ leetist-vibe thats given off by having posts to be constanly approved. Besides, any min post count will just be circumvented with x-1 AI slop posts before the users grand reveal of AI slop project.

Not all projects get maintained and many times authors of projects have gone awol for periods of time anyway.

Even if a project doesnt get any support afer initial reveal, if there is an online repo, anyone can clone fork and start prompting themselves. Thats the benefit of the low-effort low-bar coding world we seem to be living in these days 😀... Silver lining

Is this agreed upon by the rest of the moderators and admins?
