The only thing you're going to achieve with your childish behavior is driving away Dege, who has been doing a fantastic job for over 10 years helping the community get old games running on Windows.

If you want to steal someone else's work just because they wouldn't let you exploit it for Linux, that's an appallingly immature attitude. Grow up and learn to respect other people's opinions.

Stay strong, Dege, and thank you for all the work you do. dgVoodoo2 is a fantastic and incredibly useful tool. I hope you'll keep working on it for many years to come and that these disrespectful people won't drive you away from it.

Thx, but I think it all is a storm in a teacup.
Doing some googling on the topic reveals that there are 1-2 reddit- and wine bugtracker threads about it and there are the following types of people:
- Legloundnet and NostalgiaRealm: they are the ones who keep dwelling on the topic of dgvoodoo + linux.
- People who are rage baiting, having "how dare you" moments because something does not run on their glorified OS
- People who have some opinion about it but does not care (majority)

I always said that they don't need dgvoodoo on linux and they just reinforce my opinion on the mentioned forums:

Instead, I will likely be forking d7vk to include filtering, anti-aliasing and rendering-resolution overrides.
That would cover 99% of the uses cases that I would now use dgVoodoo2 for.
Using an actual open source option, whether vibe-coded or not, is always the better path imo..

So, even NostalgiaRealm needs dgvoodoo only because he can't force MSAA or resolution for some games ATM.

But let's look at another conversation snippet:

So, even though nGlide has full compatibility with Glide games, has a direct Vulkan backend (no translation layer required) and Zeus were nice to the "community", it's still not enough.
Because.... eehhh... it's not open source so they have no control over it. So, if I get it right, even nGlide is going to be replaced with an AI-written glide wrapper.
The Good eventually receives the punishment it deserves, in that "community".

Well, I don't know... There are so many game remakes and game specific patches, improvements and whatnots by now that I'm not sure that general wrappers have so much use.
And also, there the alleged one-night game decompilation/recompilation madness nowadays.
The binary is deompiled by AI and then it's just recompiled to other platforms (see Play Station games running on PC for example), and even new features are added if required.

I don't think though that it is so simple (decompile/recompile) because I can't fathom that AI can rewrite the platform-environment calls in the source on its own, like replacing an old DX7 engine with a DX12/Vulkan one, or replacing Play Station API calls with equivalent calls to a PC environment, let alone without errors, but I might wrong and at this pace soon everybody will just port (and customize) an old game to a modern platform on their own. In that case wrappers worth literally nothing.

For lots of old games, dgvoodoo 2 is very usefull. I use this tool for lots of old games. Compatibility + force high resolution is amazing.

I would like that you continue but it's your choice.

I don't think that ai tool will replace dgvoodoo 2 because there are thousands of titles using glide,dx2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 and I don't think that anybody are going to make recompilation of all these games.

Maybe one day AI tools will be able to decompile and recompile any game just by pressing a button and all for free, but I don't think that will be anytime soon because for now, those who use AI have to pay quite a lot, and those who do it without knowing how to code produce projects riddled with bugs and flaws.

I like very much your works and even it you stop, I am very grateful to your work.
