Hello!

I am reverse engineering the S3 Sonic Vibes PCI sound card (Early PCI sound card looks like) for emulation in 86Box, I have currently gotten these features to work:

-Drivers install and work in Windows 98 and Xubuntu 6.10
-Wave playback works
-CD audio works

But currently I cannot work on the MIDI wavetable, even after reverse engineering the S3SV Win9x drivers and datasheet work, I have not been able to get the wavetable function of the card to work
As such if anyone has a real card please dump the DSP if you can, I made a tool for this purpose: https://github.com/NexGenDriven/svdump/releases (Source code is available and can be compiled)

Thanks

Instructions for the svdump tool:

Install drivers in Win9X and obtain the 16bit I/O base hex from the device manager
Boot into a clean DOS boot disk without any drivers loaded and run the program
Provide the file dumps as an attachment or through a GitHub issue

Hi, I have 2 such cards:

1) fully working one, I used extensively in the past, because it's one of the 1st, if not even the 1st cards to support "Distributed DMA" and so it's DDMA implementation is by-the-book, i.e. I used it as reference when test and play with DDMA support - wrote small tool that sets up the DDMA address, which is the only thing that needs to be setup in order to get it running in DDMA mode in DOS. unfortunately, at the moment that working card - I cannot find where is exactly in my storage room of retro-hardware.

2) however, I consider it very lucky that 3rd box I checked in my storage room, I found the 2nd such card I have, but it was never tested and I am not sure if it's working or not - I see some visible damage on the crystal metal can - it was bashed there and its metal can is deformed, but if the crystal is still working or not is still not clear. anyway, I will try it in the next days (at worst during the upcoming weekend) and if it's working then make you the dump you want.
