I just noticed that with Gulikoza's latest build, at least in Blood, full screen openglhq gives just over half the framerate of when running windowed. This is with windowresolution set to the same value as fullresolution. I've tried various resolutions both in dosbox and in Blood's own configuration, with the same results.

When switching output to openglnb, the performance of fullscreen and windowed modes becomes similar.

I this a known issue? Are there any work arounds?

My system:
Windows XP SP3
3 GB Ram
C2D E8400 @ stock 3GHz
Nvidia 9600GT

Thanks in advance!

32 bit desktop.

I'll give the direct3d with hq2x.fx shader a try, thanks. I'm guessing it won't be limited to hq2x scaling, like the scaler is?

Edit: All right it works! Too bad it doesn't autoscale like openglhq and is limited to 2x/3x, but it's still great for Blood since I can just use in-game 640x480 resolution with the hardware2x scaler to get 1280x960, which my GPU and/or monitor can scale up to 1440x1080 without the horizontal black bars 😎

And it doesn't have the poor performance of the hq2x scaler (poor on my system when scaling up a 640x480 Build engine game!)

So thanks again, Gulikoza!

Never mind about the "inflexible part", it seems pretty flexible. Not sure what I was doing wrong before (maybe an aspect ratio thing?). I'll still be playing 640x480 in game for performance reasons, but now can use fullresolution=0x0!
