I had some trouble finding drivers for my new Voodoo 1. I use DOS mostly but I do run Windows 98 as well. I went to this site http://www.falconfly.de/voodoo1.htm and found some drivers. I tried the Diamond Monster 3D V4.10.01.1600 driver and 98 installed the Voodoo under the category in Device Manager that also has the sound card in. I now have extra options in my display settings in Windows 98 as well. Anyway, I tried running "Asghan: The Dragon Slayer" and Quake from Windows. Quake runs really slowly (unusable). Asghan starts and I can hear the music but the monitor looks like it is trying to display a refresh rate or resolution that it is not capable of. Wavy lines come up and then the monitor goes black. I haven't tested any other games yet.
As I never had a Voodoo back in the day I really don't know much about them or what to expect from them. The system is a Pentium II 300Mhz. Do Voodoo capable games have to be run in Windows or can they be run in DOS too?
Anyway, I am really not sure if I am using the correct driver for 98. Do I need to load any DOS drivers for the card? What games would benefit the most from the card on my Pentium II 300Mhz system?
This is the card I have by the way:
