Hello everyone,

After a brief search of the forums i got RoAk 2 to work decent with a few problems i will mention later., the mouse problem with fixed with the new .exe mentioned in a thread.

Anyway, is there a same fix for Blade of Destiny, because i can't get the mouse to work in that one either 😐

*** EDIT***

I should mention i can get RoAK1 to work in DOSBOX, but the frame rate refreshes very slowly, e.g, i could be getting 9999fps, but the screen draws it slowly, looks like theres lines running down the screen every time i move a square in any direction.

And if i speed up DOSBOX to a level where i don't get this anymore, the sound screws up.

And theres a permanant problem with movement, everytime i press a key to move my party up a square theres about a 1/2 second delay, the more i press a key the more the delay increases.

*** EDIT ***

About a few problems i have been having with RoAk 2,

While it's running, i get sound, perfect, but no music? what is the best settings to get music in the game, im running the new beta of VDM sound by the way.

And there's a graphic problem and a speed problem.

Randomly during battles the screen will go all garbled and remove all sprites from the screen so all i can see are the tiles on the ground, any fix for this?

Plus, what's a good program to slow down the speed of the game, because during travel map the game runs so fast i can't see where im going.

And during battles, everything moves fine, but when an attack is being done it runs so fast i can't see the animation or the little bubbles that pop up to show how much damage was done.

Thanks for any ideas.

No, not that I'm aware

A slight exaggeration, methinks.

Are you running this full-screen or in a window?

And if i speed up DOSBOX to a level where i don't get this anymore, the sound screws up.

Try maximizing your cycles (where DosBox is using 70-85% of your CPU capacity), making DosBox full-screen, then start the game.

That would depend on what you chose for music. If you chose SoundBlaster Pro or 16, it is probably trying to play OPL3 FM music (which doesn't work yet).

Use your VDMSound shortcut (the VLP file) to force VDMSound to use OPL2 or Dual-OPL2 for music.

Haven't heard of this. Sounds suspiciously like either video card driver problems or corrupted data files.

They are all evil. Which is why I recommend the use of DosBox every time somebody asks about them.

And also , Star Trail crashed under DOSBOX the second i try to load it up 😒

*edit*
i should mention i got roak1 to work fine in dosbox, no problems there.

But number 2 crashes when it loads up...

I run it in fullscreen by the way.

The game is probably unsupported by dosbox at this moment.

There's little you can do about it.

This isn't a text-based game is it?

Yes, it’s my fault.

It's old but not that old, it's not text based game at all.

Actualy, the only place in the game i recall text having to be inputed at all, is during character generation when you put in a name.

Thanks for your assistance anyway.

Uses "protected-mode", which is not yet supported in the Public release of DosBox.

I run it in fullscreen by the way.

Then I don't know what to tell you, this shouldn’t happen as it only requires a 286.

The garbled screen problem seems to be related to the "fixed" .exe

doesn´t happen with the original one.

btw.: This game is perfectly playable without mouse support. Try the numpad.
