System used listed here:
Rage Fury MAXX Slot A build

This is going to be a slow WIP list, and I will simply update it as I get the time to play stuff on the system. My criteria for a game making a passing grade is being able to run without bugs and issues, unless the bug or issue is totally unrelated to the card and happens on all graphics cards, AND to run the game at least on high settings and 800x600 resolution and obtain smooth gameplay (some games I may run may only allow 640x480 res settings, like Raystorm). V-sync is disabled on the card by default for both Open GL and Direct X.

Quake 2 (Passed)
Quake 3 (Passed in single GPU mode, stuttered badly in dual GPU mode)
Dethkarz (Failed, game crashes at startup intro video in either GPU mode)
Raystorm (Passed)
Need For Speed 3 (Passed)
Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed (Passed)
Resident Evil 3 (Passed)
Star Wars Episode 1 Racer (Passed)
Le Mans 24 Hours (Passed)
Master Rally (visually fine, framerate when multiple vehicles present is too low to play game)
HyrdoThunder (Passed)
Heavy Gear 2 (Passed)
Unreal Tournament GOTY (Passed in 16-bit color, high details. Framerate was between 40-70 most matches. Dipped to low 30fps on a couple of the massive area matches. 32-bit color caused frame stuttering issues in either single or dual gpu mode)

Nice vids.

Have you experimented much with any Unreal engine games? UT99, Unreal Gold, Unreal 2...

Rage Dawning demo works on it, as does the Matrox G400 tech demo (with the i_promise_to_buy_a_g400 line in the config).

Can't remember what else, but I'll have a look 😀

I will mess with Unreal Gold and UT99 soon. Unreal 2 however I wont be trying. Cards too old to run that game even remotely decent. I read before that people had stuttering issues on UT99 with the card, similar to what I got with Quake 3. Whats funny is on the cards initial reviews there was no mention of stuttering in Quake 3, so I am wondering if its simply a matter of support being broken on the last MAXX driver released. That is the only driver I have for the card.

I wonder what causes the AFR tech to break and stutter. My guess would be that it is VRAM or AGP related. Does the card support AGP texturing? How do the 3dmark99 tests for that run?

Sadly the MAXX doesn't support AGP texturing. This supposedly caused issues with some people too, where they had to set their graphic aperture size to like 16 in the bios to get games to even run without crashing. My board only does 64 or 256, but I don't think that is the issue anyway. They had to do that because all their games simply crashed constantly shortly after start up.

When the card was initially reviewed with early drivers Quake 3 performance in dual gpu was great. I bet they simply broke it by the final driver maybe. The drivers for this card never really got a chance to mature or anything.
