Hello, I'm trying get this game work. I have tried with my own cd and with a iso but I can't. It freezes in the installation. However the rip version works fine. I suppose is a problem with sound, the cd version has cd-audio tracks.

This game can be emulated in dosbox? What should I do?

Thanks and excuse me for my bad english

Then you need to make a cue/bin image (iso won't work).

Ok finally I got it 😀

After various "trial and error" these are the steps I have followed:

1.- My main OS is windows 7 x64, I installed Vmware (virtual machine) and Windows xp (I suppose Win 98 is valid for this), and there, installed the game.

2.- Copy the installation folder (infogram) from xp to your main OS.

3.- Open DosBox and write the following commands:

mount c c:\ (C: is where I copied the game installation folder)

mount d h:\ -t cdrom -usecd 1 (H: is my cdrom drive and "1" is because I have two drives and I'm using the second one. You can get this number using mount -cd )

c: (for change to drive c:)

cd infogram\indark (for change to the game directory)

indark (for execute the game)

If I try install the game from dosbox I get frezzes and errors, so this is the only way I have found for get the game works but I suppose is not the only one.

Now the game works fine, including jack in the dark, and the music from cd is awesome, much better than rip version. Fortunately, I have the original cd from 1992 😀

I hope this mini guide help to the community!

Dunno. I just have mounted the cd as "mount d j:\ -t cdrom" and installed the game with original install.exe w/o any trouble.
Maybe the trouble is the release - seriously, AitD was released on cd so many times... My cd is from AitD trilogy.
By the way, I hate the running glitch. My fingers can't press the forward button twice in 0.01 sec...

have you tried lowering cycles?

Of course.
It is helping, but the game will be less playable. At cycles=5000 there is in-game overall slowdown, and the pause is still too short. I can make Carnby run at 60-70% of the tries.

Maybe explicitly selecting core=normal or core=dynamic can help?

I have finished the game and I have noticed that there are two doors that can't be opened. Is normal? can be opened in some way? One is in the dance hall, in the ghost dancers room. The other one is in the corridor that ends in the house exit.

I hope this can help, I have to scoot now but I remember I (or someone else) posted in a thread something saying that cycles with 0.74 had to be exactly 10 000
