I recently acquired a cd version of Lords of Doom by starbyte. After creating an image (bin/cue), I installed it in dosbox 0.74. Upon launching the game it asks what type of sound you would like, adlib or no device.
Upon starting the game however, there is no sound. Occasionally you will actually see the message "sound open error" in the dialog box.
When running the game with the debugger, at the times the sound errors appear it seems to be looking for files in a sounds subdirectory, which is odd as the installer never created this. Also, the files it is looking for are not in the root folder either - and keep in mind this is a fresh install from original media. I had seen hacked copies floating around in the past with this issue and had assumed that they had been stripped of audio or just messed up over time.
I have tried changing the sound blaster irq down to 5 and enabling gravis, however the issue appears to be these missing files that the install program isn't creating.
The disc itself appears to have the entire game packed into a file called doom.001 I tried opening it with 7-zip and was unsuccessful.
