hello there SCSI freaks!

got an adaptec 2940UW and adaptec 29160 controller here. LVD and SE cables. with termination.
the rig is a p233mmx, 128mb ram.

with the SCSI HDD Fujitsu MAP3367NP FW 0107 it syncs at 40MB/s with 2940UW and 160MB/s with 29160 controller.

with both controllers, any cable configuration, any jumper configuration, i only get 10MB/s max. throughput. with several benchmarks, dos (speedsys, hddspeed) and windows (crystal disk mark).

any suggestions?
i'm searching the web for a firmware upgrade but didn't find anything related... toshiba now has support for fujitsu brand, but also nothing there.

PS: other drives working fine with their correct transfer rates. also tested everything in a second rig P133, 32MB. same problem.

I know very little about scsi though. Could it be theres something wrong with that drive?
Also, have you tried connecting the drive to another scsi adapter?

Tried all the basic stuff like swapping cables and such?
There could be something wrong with the drive though, but like I said, I know very little about scsi 😊
