Two weeks ago I rescued a 486 from the dumpster.
It's a 486DX4/100, motherboard is Shuttle HOT-433 with 256K of cache, video is ATI 3D charger PCI. It had 32MB of RAM but I upgraded that to 96MB just because I could 😁
The hard drive is toast. Dead as a brick. Replaced it with a 200MB WD which mostly boots fine but sometimes takes a long time to start spin-up. Should be getting a few DOMs next month.
There's also a CD-ROM and a 3.5" floppy... nothing special.
Any ideas for further upgrades?
Cheers
