Could someone send me DESCENTR.EXE from v1.4a? I have an 1.0 EXE which the 1.4a patch fails to recognize as correct.

1.0->1.4a and 1.4a -> 1.5 were the only ones I could find.
Are you using an original copy of Descent, or some dodgy "abandonware" copy?

I don't suppose there may be a way to manually extract the exe from the patch installer, would there? Try using Universal Extractor http://legroom.net/software/uniextract on the patch installer file.

It's an incremental patch. So I need the EXE. Hence the topic.
Like I said, see if you can extract the exe from the patch installer.
There's also a 1.0 to 1.5 patch.

Thanks for this little interesting tidbit, but I am quite sure, for I could read (yeah I'm _that_ good:) the version number printed by Descent. The problem has been fixed since then, by the way. Files available for posterity: http://gabucino.be/download.htm
