Hi,
I`m trying to start MS Works 2.0 (which runs with minor glitches under dosemu) with dosbox.
When I start the application, dosbox (or Works?) seems to hang immediately after the command with a blinking cursor in the next line. Mouse release (function key) works still, though.
I suppose that it`s a video or a font problem?
Configuration:
Hardware:
Panasonic CF-71, PIII-450, 192 MB RAM, Neomagic AV256 graphic chipset.
OS: Linux 2.4.21, Debian 3.0 woody, KDE 2.2/Oroborus, XFree 4.1.0-16 with "neomagic" driver (all standard Debian packages from stable), kernel from kernel.org, console framebuffer 1024x768 enabled
Dosbox:
0.61-2
all sound disabled but pcspeaker=true
machine switched from auto to vga (with no effect at all)
xms/ems enabled or disabled -> no effect
Works: v2.0 DOS, vga driver, colour mode enabled (should I try monochrome?? or a cga/hercules driver??)
[x] README read, some config switches tried with no effect
[x] FAQ read
[x] Apps Forum searched (but the search term Microsoft Works 2.0 reveals some 50 pages of results, most of them not likely to be applicable)
[x] Google done (same as above)
Any hints?
Thx,
Hans
