Trying to find DVI-I(male-male) of good quality, mostly for use with monitors that doesn't have VGA, but signal comes from analog VGA source (via passive VGA-DVI adapter).
In lengths of 2-3 meters or close.

DVI-D is no good, no analog signal gets thru.

Yes there are cables to be found, but I'd prefer some better quality ones, if they exist.

Not having the ferrite 'tubes' or 'cans' (in lack of better words) would be a sign of that I think, as well as a much thicker cable - but not necessarily.

Any suggestion of existing names/makers/models etc would be appreciated.
And links (ebay, European webshops) even better! 😁

Worst case, going HDMI instead, there are vga2hdmi powered converters, but expensive...

Thankyou for reply! 😎

Yes, I've actually seen the appropriate(yay!) connector C2G listed for sale locally!, but haven't heard or read anything that indicates they are extra quality. Normally the kind of shop I found them in never carries any quality stuff(cable wise), so I just disregarded them completely.
Maybe I just have to buy one and see for myself (?).

Dalco is unknown brand. I 'll check out the interwebs.
I suppose that is a different one than 'Deltaco'.

I know IXOS has an ok rep(but no DVI-I cables exist!?), and also some of the higher series of 'Real Cable' looks ok.
The VGA ones I mean. (not found any DVI-I of theirs either)
And there is also Nordost/Wyrewizard(DVI-D, getting phased out apparantly on the 'cheap' - but haven't found any DVI-I though.

Other than that I'm blank vs brand names.

Dalco is a small cable and computer component company that I used to get catalogs from for years. I believe once upon a time, they had a lot of Commodore 64 stuff, so that's how I got on their mailing list. They're still around and still have really good deals on quality cables. I used to use them for all of our business cabling whenever we had to switch out Property Management Systems and needed new cables specialty cables like null modems, etc.

Today, they've got a good number of modern products in stock and I think the pricing is quite competitive. They're still a smaller company, so you don't get lost in the crowd on service either. 😀

'Brand names' with cables is all a gimmick started by Monster. Yes, there are quality differences between bad and well-made cables, but it's usually not associated with a brand since they're sourcing whatever makes them a profit after the initial brand is established.

Best thing I would do is either put your hands on the cables, or get some with a solid return policy. And don't be afraid of the cheap ones. I bought a 6' hdmi cable from B&H that I saw on sale while there for something else after I had already paid $20 for a GE branded one from Target. The difference? The price. I could even see how the B&H one was actually molded and made better.

Just an idea, you could try taking a VGA cable and two of those DVI to VGA adapters, and improvise a cable.

I'm really not understanding what the hell you're trying to do here, honestly...

I get that you're trying to feed an analog VGA signal to a monitor that only has a DVI-I input. But I'm not seeing why you can't just use a normal VGA->DVI-A cable, or a DVI->VGA adapter on the monitor side in combination with a regular VGA cable...

Yeah, I see that one, heh 😁 .
But at least they 'try' to make some quality lines with extra protection/tech/whatever - and often have a wider selection, even if some(most?) of those cables might be just as good(or bad) as the 'cheaper' undbranded ones. Anyway, if I can get the 'hightech' brand ones on the cheap, I think I'll prefer them over the others, for now at least.

Now, USB mouse extension cables OTOH, I don't care so much... 🤣

Sure, obviously! 🤣 - BUT.... there is actually not enough space around the monitor connection, barely room for a single normal cable connector, hence... etc etc.

Well, DVI-I was a try for multipurpose cables(two birds 1 stone etc), but I see your point. So I didn't look for mixed cables at all. But the one you linked to seems interesting(and cheap! though shipping = ouch), thankyou ! 😎
The description is very specific as to direction(VGA monitor etc), but I assume these work both ways even so.

As for using an adapter, see my post above.

Even video cables have become like mouse and usb since they've become popular outside of computer applications. Just be sure you're getting quality at whatever price you pay and you'll be all good. 😎
