Hello everyone,
I am thinking of selling all my retro gear, except 1 main retro rig, 1 main backup set of hardware and one older system.
This involves about 4-5 AT cases, 7-8 cpu/mobo/ram/vga/sound card/i-o card/HDD sets ranging from 386SX, DX, 486DX, DX2, DX4, Pentium, Pentium MMX, K6, Cyrix MII and Pentium II/III, Voodoo1, Voodoo2, Voodoo3 2000 etc, some SB 16 etc cheapo sound cards, ISA and VLB controllers and several working HDDs ranging from 40MB to 10GB.
I think about keeping my beloved baby AT system which consists of: [photos here: Re: post up pics of your "computing area" ]
--> PIII 750 slot1 | 256MB SDR | Voodoo3 3000 | SB0060 Live! | HDD 80GB | slot1 baby AT mobo | PCI usb 2.0 | AT case w/modified MHz display | Hitachi 19" flat CRT | Windows 98SE to play all the Windows 95-98 games (w/glide) I want and others that don't play on XP or newer OSes.
[modified MHz display info: Re: Creating a new LED MHz indicator for my PC's front panel! [PROJECT] ]
and also one backup set consisting of:
--> K6-III 400MHz ss7 | Voodoo3 2000 | SB0220 Live! | HDD 80GB | DFI P5BV3+ mobo
I also want to keep one system for DOS/Win 3.1 stuff:
--> P120 socket5 | 64MB EDO | S3 Trio64 onboard | HDD 3GB | Desktop case "Digital Venturis FP" | Panasonic 14" CRT
But everything else has to go...
Maybe I'd assemble as many PCs as possible, set them up, configure them and load them with every software that I have and try to sell them locally.
Or should I just put them on the basement?
I want to stop gathering all this old gear and focus on the actual software/games/experience with them! 😊
What do you think? What would you do?
