What is the difference between these two AWE32 sound cards?
I am mostly interested into what is that other big chip on the CT3980.

Not much comes to mind, except for CD connection interfaces and 3980 being PnP. Where's that other big chip?

CT2760 uses an EPROM to store IRQ/DMA settings. I don't know if these go bad with age, but I had a CT2760 which stopped working the first time I tried to change the stored settings.

Oh i see.
So there really isnt any other difference than hanging note but present in CT2760.
