There are model M's that are black.
I had one once. Not sure if they were called Model M, but it was fully mechanical and clicky with springs just like the beige ones.
It got hit by a can of pepsi tho and stoped working even after taking it apart and cleaning it 🤣 .

It was stamped IBM.

I may have the keys in a bag in my storage crates, pretty sure I saved them with the springs, cause I have a whole other crate full of beige ones still.
Spare keys and all that.

Edit
Here is a picture of a beige model that looked like it.. but black. Emblem was in the same place.
IBMClicky1_zpsfd0f8b13.jpg
DID not see the keys in the crate, doesn't mean I don't have them tho 🤣, there probably somewhere.
I have another type of beige one that has a different design too, and a few with AT plugs, that I'm pretty sure are PC/XT keyboards F-row keys are on the left side.
I got a whole bunch in a single purchase long, ago at a show when the keyboards were considered worthless, just junk that offices wanted to get rid.
I liked them back then cause well, they are very good keyboards.

The only black IBM clicky keyboard was indeed a model M (model M13 to be exact)...and they only came with a trackpoint pointing device built in. It is my dream keyboard but impossible to find for less than a cost of an arm and a leg 🤣 ...I am less interested now that I just picked up a lot of just over 10 beige Model M's...I know the Model M may seem a bit big, but really it is the best keyboard to have overall (built like a tank and just plain awesome)...but I understand each person has their specific needs.

I guess in hindsight it was pretty obvious you wanted a Norwegian keyboard. What with being from Norway. 😖

I bet the demographic gets pretty small once you throw in mechanical, Norwegian, and no media keys.

I'm happy with either "pan-nordic" (i.e. combined norwegian, danish, swedish layout) or british layout, as either of those look exactly the same, aside from the printing on the keys. The US key layout has a different return key, which after many, many (sigh) years of using the "european" return key, becomes a bit of a problem. I tried one for a few weeks some years ago, and every time I wanted to press the apostrophe, I ended up hitting return, which got on my nerves in the end 😁

WinXP : PIII 1.4GHz, 512MB RAM, 73GB SCSI HDD, Matrox Parhelia, SB Audigy 2.
Win98se : K6-3+ 500MHz, 256MB RAM, 80GB HDD, Matrox Millennium G400 MAX, Voodoo 2, SW1000XG.
DOS6.22 : Intel DX4, 64MB RAM, 1.6GB HDD, Diamond Stealth64 DRAM, GUS 1MB, SB16.

Yes that Black one is it Retrofantatic.
I completely forgot it even had that trackfail trackball wannabe (why did they not use a trackball!!) in it.
I never used it 🤣 it was bad like all ibm laptops that use it.

Do you mean the current US standard rectangle return/enter key? Or the older L style one?

I use the backslash and pipe often enough that a keyboard with a big ol' return key throws me off.

Looks like they use the "tall" return key:

So would your ideal keyboard type be called an "NO" keyboard?

Das Keyboard offers DE and NO layouts. Currently their best looking product is the Model 4 Professional, which DOES have media keys, but they're out of the way on the top right hand side. Earlier models had an Fn key crowding the bottom left, and additional functions on the Function row, which I'm not a fan of at all.

No numpad on the the colerful one. I don't understand how they can market that as a positive feature.

The extra reach to the mouse can be a problem. I swapped the mouse to the left years ago for that reason. (Getting rid of the numpad is unthinkable.)

Those Rosewill keyboards are about 50 percent Lemon, according to Newegg reviews. Makes me very nervous.

Hellooooo. I bought my Cherry MX Board 3.0 from Amazon, but this one looks like a different layout. Is that the kind of thing you're looking for? Because I can vouch for the quality of the keyboard, and I'd recommend it. Especially since the price is reasonable even compared to other Mechanical keyboards.

OR you can custom order a keyboard from WASD Keyboards, with any mechanical keyswitch of your choosing, any language layout, color, etc.

But it'll cost you.

If I had infinite money I'd custom order a WASD Keyboard with Cherry MX Browns and Dvorak layout, and learn to type it.

I don't have infinite money, so I use a Cherry. And I might get a Cooler Master or Thermaltake model (cheaper, but probably still okay) for work. Carpal tunnel is a pain in the... wrist.

I know, bumping an old thread, but just came across this today:

That looks great, and the only "media key" is a volume slider/mute. Seems fairly unobtrusive for OP's requirements, if you're not counting the power/lock buttons.

Also the older iterations of the K70 are cheaper, if you're not into the RGB color mode (and why would you be? it seems excessive).

Uses shitty cherry switches though 🙁

What do you mean? If they use real Cherry switches they should be the same as any other Cherry switches. You can't advertise use of Cherry switches if they're NOT (like Kailh).

Maybe it's just me, but I don't like Cherry MX switches. (but then I must add, haven't tried all the different flavours)
The clicky ones especially, feel like there's sand inside them. And the switch and feedback parts are two separate mechanisms.

Corsair wrote:

If you want maximum feedback on when you're hitting the actuation point, blues are for you.

Thats my main gripe with the blue and brown switches: the feedback you get has nothing to do with the actuation point at all. You can click without triggering the switch and vice-versa. And then the release click is far more noticable than the actuation click, which makes this even worse.

Hmm, I quite like the Brown and Red (my main keyboard is Red), but I've never typed on a full Blue one.
