Hello,
I've been neglecting my retro machines lately due to being too busy but I recently threw an ad requesting free 486 parts and last night I picked up a pretty large haul. Good to know you can still find 386/486 gear in 2014! I have had a look through and static bagged and sorted much of it, one trip to the rubbish tip to drop off all the tower cases that either didn't have MHz LED's or were not full towers.
I am quite interested in the cases and what looks to be a couple of 386 boards with AMD 40Mhz CPU's since the 386 era was before my time. Does anything stand out as interesting to you guys or do you have knowledge on any of these parts? I was pretty excited when I saw the Cyrix 5x86 CPU and was hoping it was a 120/133 but it was not meant to be. Most of the boards have barrel batteries and one or two have pretty bad leaks so I guess I'll find a tutorial and learn to swap them over finally.
The Buslogic SCSI card and the no-name graphics card looks interesting enough..all in all an excellent free vintage haul...... Is the Jaguar V board with battery damage salvageable?
1] Generic UMC 486 board
2] Unknown video card
3] Socket 7 with onboard sound, video, network
4] Opti board with serious damage
5] Netgear firewall
[6] 386 board AMD 40
7]Jaguar V 386 board - Damaged
8] 486 board soldered CPU
9] CPU's (finally a real 486 cpu/heatsink with clip)
[10] Disks
11] Full Towers - What are these? Takes an extra large PSU and not a generic.
12] Cirrus Logic VLB
