Long story short, is it dead? 😄
Recently I picked a Montego-II PCI card with the digital add-on and the 4mb Cancun FX wavetable. Sample pictures are here (middle of the page)

To test the wavetable I simply mounted it over an existing Creative Vibra card (it had a MIDI WT card before). No MIDI music in Windows98 + Doom II...
I removed the Cancun and mounted a small test wavetable over the same setup. Worked, MIDI music OK.
Same Windows, same Doom II, same settings everywhere!
So, does one have to use the Cancun with its own PCI Montego-II card? And/or initialize the wavetable properly with its own drivers?
Or use 'GM/GS' MIDI type selection in the autoexec.bat (I could have missed this line...)
Or is it simply dead?
Thank you for your educated guess, All.
Perfection is the key. Fatality is the key. (c)
