It is 40 MHz, as it is written on the socket.

It's unlikely to be used - the chip above the socket is an ICS1394N pixel clock generator used instead of discrete pixel clocks (hence all the blank spaces on the left hand side). The socket is most likely a holdover from a previous version of the design. Possibly fitted by accident?

The easiest way to know is just to try it

have more or less the same card as you and this is whats is in that socket on my card

Had a similar card. Also 40MHz. I know because the card died years back and I salvaged that oscillator for something else which I had my hands in today... Doubt it would kill it if you tried one with the wrong clock anyway, it probably just wouldn't work or else would produce interesting pictures on the screen.
