I thought that I might aswell start a project thread for this system as I have a feeling I will be using it alot.
Spec.
CPU: Harris 286 16 MHz.
FPU: None.
Mainboard: Unknown "PA 5000".
Memory. 1 MB (DIPs).
Video: Video Seven Vega VGA 8-bit ISA. Upgraded to a Hercules Tseng 4000 1MB for now
Sound: PC-speaker.
HDD: NEC D3122 20MB "type 2" MFM.
Floppy: 1x 3.5" 1.44MB, 1x 5.25 1.2MB, 1x 5.25" 360KB (I can only use 2 drives at the same time).
Ports, 2x game ports, 1x Parallel and 1x Serial.
Some images.
The great looking case 😀
Inside the great looking case.
The CPU
The Video Seven Vega VGA card.
The HDD and floppy controller card.
The Parallel port card.
The Serial port card.
The Game port card.
Finally some performance numbers
Landmark: The system scores like a 286 16 MHz 😀
Landmark: With the Tseng 4000 1MB, now the video performance is good enough for some more games.
MIPS: The system is almost as fast as a Compaq 386 (I would guess a 386 SX 16 MHz).
The plan for the future is to add a sound card but I only have SB16 and newer cards and I would prefer a SB Pro 2.0. I will also need to exchange the barrel battery some time in the future, it has corroded a little at the battry leads but the battery holds charge so I do not think it will corrode more while its charged.
New PC: i9 12900K @5GHz all cores @1.2v. MSI PRO Z690-A. 32GB DDR4 3600 CL14. 3070Ti.
Old PC: Dual Xeon X5690@4.6GHz, EVGA SR-2, 48GB DDR3R@2000MHz, Intel X25-M. GTX 980ti.
Older PC: K6-3+ 400@600MHz, PC-Chips M577, 256MB SDRAM, AWE64, Voodoo Banshee.
