So i bought a 3dfx Voodoo Banshee video card, but the cooling fan it came with had it's connector cut off. Naturally i assumed that it was broken and unusable cause i can't plug it in without the connector, so i ordered a new one, but after attaching it to the heatsink and plugging it into the thing on the card it wouldn't work. The fan was getting really hot, but it wasn't spinning. I thought i had gotten really unlucky and received a faulty one, so i bought another one but what a surprise that one didn't work either. Obviously i was doing something wrong, i gave all 3 fans to my father to test them (he used some device to run electricity through them) and they all started spinning, even the original one that had it's connector cut off worked perfectly. So tell me please, why can't i get them to work on the card? Am i plugging them into the wrong spot? Did i buy the wrong kind of fan? Could the 2-pin connector thing on the card be faulty?
Here's a picture of the fan it came with:
