Is everything looking fine in the device manager? Are you selecting SB16 or SoundBlaster in the sound setup?
Triple check the IO address and IRQ that the SB16 emulation is getting in the device manager. Perhaps Plug'n'Play shuffled things around.

I treid makeing things default again and now cd and sound effects work ok now and i did check that hings worked fine and made things reset so they can work again.
