Hi all. This is going to be my last full SS7 build for my collection of complete computer's.
Well... Untill something dies in one of my build's, and I have to swap hardware around,
in order to balance everything out yet again. So I thought.... Well...
Why not do a sort of Fanboy build, an Asus fanboy machine! Hence the name... "The FanBoy"
This is build is (you guessed it) created by using Asus part's. Allmost exclusively. (Allmost)
It is so fanboy, that I even chose as many Asus datacables as I could (PATA and Floppy)
Yes. The cables are Asus branded... Giggle. I just could not help when doing an Asus build.
-AMD K6-2-500.
-Kingston 128mb PC-133 Ram Single Side.
-Asus P5A Rev. 1.06
-Asus TNT2 V3800M/32m AGP.
-Asus PCI-SC875 SCSI Controller.
-Creative AWE64-Gold CT4390.
-Orchid Voodoo1.
-9.1gb IBM Ultrastar SCSI HDD, 10K rpm's.
-1.44mb Floppy, unknown manufactor.
-Random Optical Drive.
-All Floppy and Pata cables are Asus Branded (for the laugh of it)
Mind. This is just a temporary build at this stage. Everything has to be tested first.
At this point, it looks like all is running smooth. (Problems could come though)
The TNT2 gives me some 2940 points in 3D-Mark99. I guess this is a fair score.
In other words. Yeah. This machine is alive.
Initially. I had a 20gb Seagate ATA-66 Harddrive attached. And everything went well.
At this stage, it is only a matter of getting the SCSI part tested and up and running.
All looking well at this point.
As I mentioned. This build is my last full SS7 build. I am going to venture into 440BX build's from now.
What do people think about the idea behind this build? It is actually ment as a sort of joke 🤣 😉
What do people recommend me to run on this machine?
Don't eat stuff off a 15 year old never cleaned cpu cooler.
Those cakes make you sick....
