I have a 64-bit Windows 8.1 computer that DOSBOX works on as expected. The legacy DOS application loads and works as it did on my 32-bit Windows 7 system.

I just hooked up a new Windows 7 that is 64-bit but DOSBOX does not work. When I type the command, 'mount c c:\test', for example, I get a response that says that c:\test does not exist.

I can't figure out what makes the critical difference between the two computers.
I even uninstalled DOSBOX and then reinstalled it, but that did not help.

Obviously, C:\test does not exist. This is not a dosbox problem.

Leileilol, the folder does indeed exist. It shows in Windows Explorer as a subdirectory of c:\ and at a DOS prompt, typing 'cd c:\test' takes me directly to that directory.

it seems to be something more basic than that.
I have even tried 'mount c c:\' and it says that C:\ doesn't exist

We can end this topic. Sorry for troubling each of you.
I found the problem. The left Shift key on the new keyboard does not work, so I was not typing a colon when I thought I was.
