Edit: The MX8315 also has a pin that drops the CPU clock down to 8MHz when pulled low. This doesn't seem connected to anything/have anything to do with the turbo switch input that this board also has. Maybe the two could be used simultaneously?

So I finally had a chance to test out this board some more. I never did really do anything even when the 166MMX was in there except test the POST with some different video cards.
The events are not necessarily in the order listed below, but it makes more sense to stick with what I tried with the different CPUs.
I first put in a Pentium 233MMX that I recently received and I was able to get it to POST at a reported 250Mhz at the supposed 100Mhz fsb setting. I was also able to get it to POST at 300Mhz by raising the voltage to 2.9.
I tried all the way up to 3.1v and the only difference it made was that it reported 266Mhz when at 3.0v and 240Mhz when at 3.1v. Something is definitely screwy with that fsb setting.
However, it freaks out when it gets to the second screen where it should be listing the CPU speed, RAM, IRQs, etc. Just locks up. I think either the board is trying to run the PCI bus at 50Mhz at that setting or something else is going on like it needs more I/O voltage of which there is no adjustment for.
I also tried with a K6-III+ 450 and although it POSTED, even at the 4.5 multiplier at the supposed 100Mhz fsb setting it had the same issues as the 233MMX did. I tried all the way down to the 2.5 multipler and it still did the same thing. THE CPU speeds reported were way off. Guessing that is because it only officially supports the original K6 CPUs.
So I guess I am just going to make it into a 233MMX system and be done with it. I could run at the 75 or 83Mhz fsb setting, but I really don't need to as I have other builds in the works that will cover faster speeds.

Thanks for the tests! Sounds like the 100MHz setting is messing up the mind of the poor board's BIOS. 🤣
Was curious about the possibility of overclocking the FSB of pentium pro. So far no luck.
ASUS XP6NP5: W48C60-414G, 2 jumpers, 4 combinations, 60 and 66MHz marked out and two others undocumented.

I wonder if my AOpen X59 motherboard has hidden settings... I was disappointed when I saw it didn't have settings for lowering than 66FSB.

Most of the settings are taken from the datasheets of the clock generators. What's the model number of your board's clock generator? We can try and see if there is a datasheet for it.

I never wanted to just haphazardly try other jumper configurations on here for fear of frying my board and/or GPU. The manual has configurations for 66, 68, 75, 83, 95, 100, 112, and 124 FSB speeds but give a warning saying that it only supports a maximum of 100FSB and that 112/124 is for internal test only. I'm only interesting in seeing if it can go below 66, anyway.
