I just found and bought a brand new, sealed INTEL DX4-100 Overdrive for 20USD.
I was wondering if I can use it to upgrade my IBM PS/1 2133 system that currently sports INTEL SX-25 processor. There is an upgrade socket on the motherboard, but I suppose it was not designed to run such a :modern: CPU.
I can't even guess if it has any voltage regulator and I woun't get it burnt by trying out. I am aware that upgrading to 100mhz is pointless to some extent, as this rig does not have anything better than built-in or ISA graphics, but still would like to try. Btw. I also wonder if the built-in cirrus will suffer from the same ISA bus limitations as any external ISA card?
