Are you using long filenames? If so, do a dir /x and look for the 8.3 name. Avoid using long filenames for ms-dos. Naming convention for ms-dos are 8.3 (8 characters for name plus 3 characters for extension).

I don't understand why you're trying to use DOSBox to run a game that requires Windows 95: http://www.mobygames.com/game/windows/hellbender. It is not possible to do this with DOSBox.

well then how the hell do i get the damn game to work

You run the Hellbender executable in Windows? The operating system it was designed for.....

Should be Hellbndx.exe, at least that's what it is in the demo of the game that I have.

Game runs fine for me so it must be an installation problem.

If you are getting an CONFIG.NT/AUTOEXEC.NT error on trying to install the game then copy CONFIG.NT and AUTOEXEC.NT from c:\windows\repair to c:\windows\system32

Did you try some compatibility mode? Right-click on the main executable and choose Windows 95 or Windows 98 in the compatibility tab.

Try to enable compatability mode:
- right click on the shortcut or whatever that you're using to launch the game
- go to the compatability tab
- check the "run this program in compatability mode" box
- set the drop-down to windows 95
- hit okay
- launch the game using that shortcut (or whatever)

I also found this link that suggests the same thing: http://support.microsoft.com/newsgroups/newsR … c=en-US&m=1&p=1
