sdram is synchronous dram, ecc is error correction which you don't need.

I took my (delidded) k6-3+ and put it in the ga-5aa.
Max. was 5,5x110 and gave me a score of 4359 with the geforce3 ti200. As the P5a-b gave 4190 with the k6-2+ i will revisit that board to get me a final high score...it should be better with a k6-3+.

But i will get nowhere NEAR your 5k so awesome job there!

Some fun on the side: put a 200mmx in the ga-5aa (same setup, gf3 ti) and and did a 3dmark2000 run.

3x66: 1259 3dmarks
2,5x110 : 1890 3dmarks

275mhz, 110fsb and 3,2v! 🤣

100fsb is not a problem and 110fsb also works fine but 3x100 i could not get with this one.

I stopped at 3,5v! 😎

The new P5AB completes post with Cache Off 120x5.5 660Mhz only 2.2V Interesting!

Not yet :p Lots of work. I need more hard drives. And my windows 98 cd that I have requires to format the hard drive in dos every time :p

Download and burn the ultimate boot cd, it's awesome. For example: i also use it to simply delete, create and quick format partitions or complete harddisks. Saves a lot of time!
And ofcourse it has a lot of other useful software.

Ok. Just did a test with the new P5A-B. 100x5.5 5500Mhz. Its faster than the other P5A-B

For 3dmark the k6-3+ is a fair bit faster as the k6-2+

You have to make VIO more when overclocking the FSB 😀
The new K6-3+ are all stable 5X115 575Mhz

I will revisit the p5a-b and play with vio to get it higher but not any time soon.

I actually got another p5a-b (my 4th!), again revision 1.04.
But I think this one will go, 3 is more than i need.

I also found another Epox board: Ep58-mvp3c-m Via mvp3 board but it is one of the first ss7 boards according to Anandtech. And It shows a little: very few voltage options and max. 100fsb so no overclock.
But still a nice board and i'm still happy i found it! It has one small defect: sdram slot1 is not working but 2 working ones are left so no problem for me.

I sold off recently the DFi baby AT mvp3 and one Aopen ax59pro (one left to keep). At this point there are still 13 ss7 boards here 😵
There must be some way to make one of them score a tiny bit higher than your score 🤣

I am going to make a wanted add for Gigabyte GA5AX with revision H chipset 😁

I can not find any info about the ''H'' revision of the ALi chipset... what's the difference? All my ALi based boards have the ''E'' revision ,except for one p5a rev 1.06 that does not support the k6+ and has revision ''G''.

I have read that this ''G'' revision can cache up to 512mb but on Asus boards there is this bug so it is slow with the ''+'' cpu's. But i've never seen any info about the ''H'' revision.

I am hoping that "H" fixed the caching problem 😀

Revision ''G'' did that, but unfortunately it gave problems with the ''plus'' cpu's on Asus boards, don't know if any other manufacturer used that revision.

Hoping to find a GA5AX myself, who knows.... have been pretty lucky this year so far.
