Keyboard & Mouse problem

After not using my pentium I for a few weeks and having no power cable connected, I wanted to fire it up again to play some dos.
The moment I turned the computer I recieved a keyboard error (but could still use my keyboard) and power management error (CPU fan RPM error no biggie) also it gave a very low volume continues beep (figured CPU or something), I checked power management and disabled the CPU fan RPM detection and the beep code ceased (temperature was at 30 degrees).
Continued and my mouse somehow stopped working on random when started along with the keyboard, sometimes I recieve a keyboard error and windows not detecting a mouse (I tried all my PS/2 mouses and another keyboard no change). This happens at random, sometimes both are detected perfectly and will work untill rebooted (this is where I am at a lose at how this is is possible)
This has never happened before, and after trying standard plug & play diagnosting and solutions I could only guess at a problem with the caps (these are still the original caps)

Just some thoughts - - assume the CMOS battery is ok - - assuming there are NO issues with the Motherboard (so far.. )

From a BIOS perspective - Are the IRQ assignments set by BIOS or OS? After the Power ON & POST - there is a screen for Mobo Resource designation (device config table) if u are able to pause at this stage u might see if there are resources conflicting with the PS2 port. The keyboard is given a special IRQ of 1 usually but with IRQ masking another peripheral may be taking its assignment. Try to set this manually and dont allow the OS to take control of this - although this might screw with ur other hardware.

Are the PINs of the ports clean of errosion on the motherboard? I have had some funny issues with old keyboards and keyboard controllers not detecting - but this does not explain the mouse really.

Default ISA IRQ Assignments
IRQ 0 System Timer
IRQ 1 Keyboard
IRQ 2 Cascaded with IRQ 9 (IRQ MASKING)
IRQ 3 Default COM2 and COM4
IRQ 4 Default COM1 and COM3
IRQ 5 LPT2
IRQ 6 Floppy Drive Controller
IRQ 7 LPT1
IRQ 8 Real Time Clock
IRQ 9 SEE 2
IRQ 10 Open
IRQ 11 Open
IRQ 12 PS/2 mouse or Open
IRQ 13 Math Coprocessor
IRQ 14 Primary Hard Drive controller
IRQ 15 Secondary Hard Drive controller

Thanks! I checked the IRC settings and those were set properly, also cleaned the connectors from the mobo and that seemed to have worked 😲 its often so simple 😒
