Tomb Raider w/gold runs fine untill the intro where it loads the FMV (Full Motion Video) files. It cuts short and then it loops the sound back a sequence untill you press ESC. I tried ESCAPEplayer and basicly the same thing happened without those 640X480 lines.

I think it has something to do with VESA not keeping up with the stream data because it does play, for a second, but the point is, it's reading the file correctly... Well Sort of.

Thanks for any suggestions

Could be buggy drivers. What version of Windows? What driver revision? Any compatibility modes set?

Yes, it’s my fault.

Yes, Compatibility Mode... Windows 98.

Game runs, but as I said, FMV screws up.

Got them, and still no difference. Do game developers still use FMV these days? Because games like Pirates works well.

At this point, you should try to identify the video codec used (smacker, etc) and maybe, replace some DLLs for newer ones. Could be difficult, though.

I'll do some research before posting back here.
Does sound like a codec problem, but this is a pain in the ***.

Thank You for responding to my questions.
