Hello. Welcome to the forums!
There are no CONFIG.SYS nor AUTOEXEC.BAT under Windows XP.
There were plain text files for the ms-dos era. Why do you want to modify them?
Intel i7 5960X
Gigabye GA-X99-Gaming 5
8 GB DDR4 (2100)
8 GB GeForce GTX 1070 G1 Gaming (Gigabyte)
because:
i use 1 pc with win98 OS, have a dos app and i can display 1 report... i try install same DOS app ina windowsxp and not worked (i modified config.nt files=80 buffers=80 fcbs=34,4) any advice why not worked?
i try modify the compatibility and not worked...
try with dosBox and not worked....
thanks
I wonder when people learn to post properly. Well, at least posting the name of the program could be usefull. Most of people around here are not psychics...

I have nothing against your English, I just want you to post the name of the DOS game/application you are trying to run...

What is the name of the program that is giving you problems?
If it's a clipper program you may also need to set a variable called:
SET CLIPPER=F80
For 80 files. Keep posting. If this is the case, using VDMSound worked for me (oddly enough).
*** Moving to DOS section, by the way ***

i need setting/configure:
files=80 buffers=80 fcbs=34,4
is a Dos app ( Cobol )
thanks
Use VDMSound. Edit the advanced settings tab and specify those values there. With luck, it should work.
