It's a micro-ATX Pentium 3 from my sig inside a slightly modified (for silence and long life) mini-ITX case from the early 2000s.

The black duct taped stuff is an IDE/SD adapter held upside down. As its kinda hidden away when its turned on - here is a photo of it getting dwarfed by the 15" cat house (and yes, the CRT was dead and beyond repair):

Amazing PC.. makes my efforts of doing the same with a C3 mITX board ridiculously large and ugly. I love it. What board is this?

This was actually an unexpected turn of events 😀 The video card is a regular AGP GF2 MX, and initially I intended to just use a normal "right-angle" AGP riser for it (so it would occupy the same position the green PCI audio card now uses) and deal with the audio later. But this AGP riser I found really cheap turned out to be a "left-angle" thing I never knew existed - the board even refused to start with the GF2 in its "normal" position (away from CPU and its heatsink facing the mobo).

I thought this was a disaster (because AGP risers are hard to come by these days and are often pricey) and that the build came to a full stop for indeterminable period. But then I decided that a slightly mangled case that works is better than pristine one that doesn't 😀 So I bought a file and took it to the rear of the box - to remove the metal preventing VGA port from being connectable.

The rest of the cards are connected via totally regular PCI risers which are still being made today (just PCB extending the slots): the audio card is on the "2-storey" one, and the NIC is on the "1-storey" riser.

Athlon 1.4GHz, 256Ram, Geforce3, 15" Hitachi lcd (payed an arm and a leg for it at the time) Aureal Vortex 2, Creative 2.1 and a wireless mouse.
And a VCR to record my Babylon5 episodes back in the day.

Well, i do have a seagate 40gb IDE 7200rpm drive handy... i could give that a whirl and see how that goes.

That's a neat build you've got there. I've always liked the idea of reusing old OEM cases for different builds like that.

I did it once before with a dell dimension 4600 case, same design as the 3000 seen here, but inside was an i5-2500k sytem... it was bitter sweet.
