Great! I also have an ASUS P3C-D motherboard with dual P3 1Ghz on it
It’s an i820 board fitted with rambus RDRAM

Wait is that a 3 slot 820 board?

Apparently those were supposed to be very buggy?

Do you mean i820 MTH bug?
That problem comes with i820 board using SDRAM,like asus P3C-2000 or Intel CC820
P3C-D is a single channel RDRAM board,so 3 memory slot is acceptable, unlike i840 chipset features dual channel must use all 4 slot

Not the MTH bug, apparently Intel recalled RDRAM i820 boards with 3 RIMM slots due to interference or noise issues or something like that.

Socket P3's are boring to me, Slot 1 is were the action is... accept with RAMBUS that makes them cool.
But man, duel Slot1 AND RAMBUS... Another item goes on my wish list!

OR840 dual coppermine with Rambus ?

Independant Ram Access for both CPU's so SMP can utilize Memory Bandwith.

The PIII-S 1400 is the nicest S370 CPU and the only CPU that I prefer for this Socket. For all other like coppermines, I prefer the Slot 1.

I upgraded the 30GB Quantum potato I was using to a 80GB WD Caviar SE.

Crazy how much faster replacing that drive made the whole system.

The side-mounted fan made me do a double-take. I was shocked that ASUS made a Socket 370 i820 board, but upon closer inspection I saw the slotket adapter. That's a really cool build for sure.

Slots are where it's at, but the Tualatin gets an exception since it's the top dog Pentium III. Those ASUS i820 boards are known to be unreliable. It's nice that yours is still working. I have an Intel i820 board, but it won't accept a Tualatin with the stock BIOS. 😢

The system was a PITA to set up, a real major one and when I first got the board, I thought it was dead until I found out that the power cable for the button wasn't in the right location because the system would turn on but not post period, then there was the headache of this Voodoo not working unless it's in the exact right location, then the GART driver not working until DX8 was installed, then I need to reboot the system after initial post or the rdram runs at 266mhz instead of 400mhz oh and the jumper free mode doesn't work.

But in the end, it seems to be fine and the board does deliver 1.45v to the cpu.

Lovely system! I would recommend ditching that power supply ASAP. I have a 300 and a 500watt variant and they are absolutely filled to the brim with Fuhgyuu caps. They both seem to work alright but the 12v rail on the 500 is super weak and almost out of spec.

Main pc: Asus ROG 17. R9 5900HX, RTX 3070m, 16gb ddr4 3200, 1tb NVME.
Retro PC: Soyo P4S Dragon, 3gb ddr 266, 120gb Maxtor, Geforce Fx 5950 Ultra, SB Live! 5.1

I've got a Thermaltake 430W with 30amps on the 5v rail.

Besides that, I've got nothing.

That will work just fine actually, only need to worry about having a massive 5v rail on Athlon XP stuff 😀 just hate to see that PSU blow and take any of that hardware out. Could always recap the Chinese one at some point, mine seemed to be half decent at least.

It came in this case when I originally found it with a Biostar Slot A board with a Bunch of bloated caps.

IIRC that board still works but I'm never going to recap again, tried to recap 3 caps on a X48BT2 and killed it which is why I got a EVGA 790I FTW

ATM I'm using my Xp rig in my sig at that desk so when I get the chance, i'll consider swapping in the Thermaltake
