I was digging through some boxes of junk I bought in the last few years, and I found this MR BIOS chip.
I have a MiniPro, but how do I find the correct chip type without removing the sticker?
Print on the bottom says 7138179BBA PHILIPPINES UX 50

So the software doesn't have a generic 27C512 option. I had tried a few already, but those didn't work. Then I selected OKI MSM27C512 and it worked!
Seems to be the "MR BIOS (tm) Copyright (c) 1992, Microid Research Ver V1.28 Port OPTI33" (Not sure if the 33 is part of the string) dated 01/15/92

a trick to remember, chose whatever 27C512 chip you want but uncheck the "Check ID" tickbox on lower left corner of the program - then it will work
Basically the programmer won't check if it's a TI, OKI, AMD, whatever manufacturer and just dump the data
I had always hoped for bios upgrades for name brand machines like the Tandy 1000 Rex or ast advantage adventure 4/66d

Aren't 386 BIOSes usually 32K?
You may to dump it as a 27c256, using the above mentioned methods. Wouldn't hurt to try both, I don't think.
Depends on the motherboard. Some were 64KB in size, others were 32KB.

what's the rundown on >502MB support with Mr BIOS? did the 386 BIOSes have any translation support?

Not sure if this one has already been found, but I recently found a MR BIOS chip on a motherboard marked SM 486-50USC. This board has a UMC UM82C491F chipset. The MR BIOS ROM chip is hand-marked 1150USC. The boot screen shows it to be MR BIOS V1.50.
You can grab a copy from the URL below. I would suggest if possible someone set up a mirror or upload it to the relevant archive. Included in the zip file are .bin and .hex files as well as photos of the board and chip. The chip is some version of 27c512.

I can't tell exactly which one is which since they are listed by numbers. likely have to boot the "Install disk" to see if the cd has a bios first. then you use the utility in windows to copy it to the floppy and then boot the floppy again to use it. Tested on a PB 640 and Advanced EV motherboard and both ended up with MR BIOS 3.46.Im also curious what the differnce in the different versions of the disk are. since I have V1 of the cd.
Do you know what the Windows CD installer renames the bios image to before it copies it to the diskette? I cannot get the setup to work through an XP VM and USB floppy. I know the Mr Bios filename for my particular mobo "PB 680 Orlando" but it wont see the floppy correctly to transfer it over.
Does anyone have an MR-BIOS for the Contaq 82C596A chipset for 486 motherboards?
I guess this is the best place to ask; I am trying to diagnose an Octek 486 board with a MR. BIOS. I am using a Diagnose Card, but I can't seem to locate the error codes for MR. BIOS anywhere. Does anyone have these?

Quick bump to confirm the Opti 82C495sx BIOS works beautifully on my "VESA Bus 495SX" board, which is either a See-Thru Data Systems STO 98-5VL, Auva CAM33-Px, J-Mark OPTI-495SX 3/486WB or DataExpert OPTI-495SX-2VL.
In any event, it previously had some kind of BIOS bug stopping it from booting into any device (POST and AMIBIOS setup went fine), after flashing MRBIOS that problem was gone and all the MRBIOS glory was revealed to me.
