The gog Version is already patched, has all the fixes for the game and it has its own modified ddraw.dll.
Its running well on my pc: windows 10 64bit,Intel Core i5-2500k ,12GB RAM, geforce gtx 1070. But it is not using the highest refreshrate (120hz).
With dgvoodoo2 v2.61 i can force the refreshrate and enable more enhancements, i renamed the original ddraw.dll.
The game starts and i can play with no issues, until i click on a spellcategory in the spellbook.

Then it crashes with a error message:

I tried different dgvoodoo2 versions and updated my graphic card drivers. Nothing helped.

I've just checked it out on both Win7 and Win10 but couldn't reproduce this.
I used a savegame from the net, selected a character and opened the spellbook but didn't crashed.

Also, could you attach the log you get with the spec release version?

Debugview doesnt show any dgvoodoo messages other then the dgvoodoo cpl ones.

If i click the magic icon on the left to open the spellbook and click on a spell school it crashes.
