i've been farting around with this for a couple of days now. I am able to create a hard disk image using bochs without issue. I'm able to use FDISK to create the partition and set it active. When I try to format the partition I've created i keep getting a Disk write error and cannot proceed. I'm attempting this from a Dual Core 3800+ with XP pro SP2 but also from Virtual PC's runing Xp Pro sp2, win98, etc.,

any insight would be appreciated.

the only reason I see is that perhaps the -size and -fs switches are wrong (fs needs to be none). Also you should try the CVS version of Dosbox if you don't do this already.

Hey Dominus,

thanks for the reply. The size is correct and fs is none. I'm using the imgmount 2 to keep it master until I have the file system on it. I've also double checked the ntfs permissions to verify they aren't also causing a problem.

i've actually never used cvs before, I'll look into that...
