I've got several legacy doors that ran fine under my dial-up BBS...which first went online 14 years ago. When I switched from GT Power to Synchronet in 2005 to add telnet access, I lost all of those doors, as they won't run under telnet, since none of them were created with a fossil driver.
I know that Stephen Hurd (Deuce) has done work with DOSBOX, and also is one of the people with Synchronet. I was under the impression that DOSBOX could be used to run these legacy doors on a telnet BBS. But, while I can write a batchfile, my programming ENDS at my VCR...and I was quite confused by the documentation. In short, can DOSBOX be used to run these legacy, non-fossil DOS doors, on a telnet BBS?? And if so, how??
I'm running Windows XP, Service Pack 2, on a 1.8 Ghz Pentium, with 512 Mb of RAM, a 120 Gb hard drive, with a Creative Labs Soundblaster PCI Card. I'd rather not switch operating systems or BBS software, if at all possible. Any advice, help, etc. would be greatly appreciated.
